| Puerto Ferro, or Bahia Verdiales, or Caño Hondo, as it is known among locals, is located within the Fish and WildLife Reserve on the eastern side of Vieques Island. The roads have been improved recently and there is now a natural boat ramp available. Puerto Ferro is opened to the sea on the south and has mangrove forests on the east, north and west sides. The mangroves on the eastern coastline have some short canals you can venture into. There are no pictures of the mangrove forests here as I did not want to risk getting my camera wet. |
