On April 5, 1967, Vieques Air Link, Inc. was registered as a corporation. On July 7, 1968 a two engine Islander plane was added to the fleet with capacity for nine passengers, being this the first plane of its kind in the Caribbean. By this time Vieques Air Link has added flights to St. Croix and Culebra. In 1980 with the construction of Fajardo Airport flights were added to that airport to offer the people of Vieques a quicker and more comfortable alternative. In 1983, Vieques Air Link added to it's fleet a Trislander aircraft, a three engine plane with capacity for sixteen passengers. It is flown with a crew of pilot and co-pilot. Again Vieques Air Link was the first one to bring this kind of novelty to the caribbean. Recently VAL acquired three Cessna airplanes with air conditioning and seating for nine passengers. Mr. Osvaldo González has been a hard worker tenacious, honest, and a person that has met his goals. He has fought against all kind of forces, as he did on 1989 when huracaine Hugo destroyed the whole air fleet. As a Phoenix, he lifted his wings with three Trislander and seven Islander planes, with more than 71 employees and an enterprise worthy of the Viequenses' pride.
